Nave Newell provided land development services for the 28,000 sf expansion of a parking lot in front of Building 17 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. Services included a survey of the site, layout and a general lighting plan. Nave Newell also analyzed circulation and revised design to minimize pedestrian conflicts. VA design guidelines were referenced for development of the sketch plan and the final design is in full compliance with all applicable codes and VA design guidelines. The expansion is to accommodate future projects at the Medical Center over the next few years.

The Lebanon VA Medical Center campus requires off-site roadway improvements including the design and installation of multiple turn lanes along Lincoln Avenue and State Drive (SR2003) to support recent campus expansion projects. Nave Newell is working closely with Legion Construction, the VA and local agencies on the design to expeditiously secure outside agency permits including Township, County Conservation District and PennDOT. Nave Newell has surveyed the project site and will also provide construction documents and construction administration.

Services included a survey of the site, civil/site layout, drainage and a general lighting plan. As part of Amtrak’s plans to improve accessibility at stations throughout the country, Nave Newell was contracted under CVM Engineers to provide ADA evaluations and develop improvement plans for stations in MD & PA. The program was awarded $40 million in stimulus funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. Nave Newell completed ADA evaluations of the existing conditions for 7 Amtrak stations. Following the evaluation Nave Newell developed plans to implement ADA improvements to increase handicap accessibility between the platform and the train. The contract also included site development plans for a new station/shelter in Connellsville, PA. Review and design were completed under tight timelines in order to meet the Federal funding requirements for the project.
