Nave Newell is providing land development services in support of the redevelopment of the Valley Forge Convention Center into a new casino and resort. Site renovations consist of alterations to the circulation, main driveway, and parking lot layout and associated re-grading as well as modifications to the stormwater and sanitary sewer conveyance systems servicing the site. Nave Newell has updated the topography plan, performed sewer capacity calculations, designed the stormwater collection system, improved the site layout and circulation to provide parking for 2,300 vehicles and provided landscape, lighting and signage improvements. This project is currently progressing through the land development approval process and plans to be open by spring 2012.

Nave Newell provided land development services to gain approval for commercial use at this site. An essential element to the project was to preserve the existing mansion’s character, providing appropriate parking and stormwater management for commercial use. Nave Newell obtained the necessary approvals for the site improvements and coordinated with Home Depot to obtain an easement for a utility connection.

As part of a $12 million renovation project at the Seaview Resort & Spa, Nave Newell worked in conjunction with SVA and prepared detailed plans for the construction of the Bayview Terrace which includes an outdoor patio, gazebo and serving annex for wedding and event receptions. Working with the architect, Nave Newell prepared site improvements, irrigation, lighting and landscape design services. In addition to the design documents, we quickly secured local and county entitlements to ensure a timely start to site construction. Design and entitlements services were completed in 60 days.

Delaware River Waterfront Casino Development / S.S. United States Adaptive Re-use, Philadelphia, PA
Working closely with our client and the SS US Conservancy, Nave Newell prepared a thorough series of site assessments for mooring locations for the SS United States. Our investigation included review study of the Code Zoning Code, Resource mapping, coordination and investigation with US Coast Guard, Delaware River Basin Commission, City Streets and Planning Commission files on various alternative mooring sites. We recommended a preferred mooring location based upon selection criteria developed with the client during the project programming phase and working in conjunction with SVA, assisted in developed a site Master Plan for the site redevelopment and rehabilitation of the SS United States as a casino, hotel, museum and mixed use development.
